Tool-specific practical guide

How to use the Job offer comparison correctly

The offer-comparison tool places two compensation packages and work factors side by side. It is useful when monthly figures hide differences in allowances, bonus conditions, hours, location, flexibility, or development.

Before you start

Obtain both offers in writing and convert each value to the same monthly or annual period. Record basic salary, fixed allowances, conditional bonus, insurance, leave, location, working pattern, and personal priorities.

  • Two written offers using the same currency and time period.
  • Fixed pay, conditional pay, benefits, working hours, location, and leave for each.
  • Personal weights for commute, flexibility, growth, stability, and other non-cash factors.

How to use it

  1. Convert both offers to the same annual and monthly basis.
  2. Separate guaranteed cash, conditional cash, benefits, hours, and location costs.
  3. Apply non-financial weights without converting subjective ratings into invented money.
  4. Review the largest differences and request written clarification for any decisive uncertainty.

Example and interpretation

After standardising both offers, a candidate finds the annual difference is smaller than the headline monthly salaries suggested. They add relocation and travel time to the decision notes and ask how each bonus and promotion path actually works.

Annual value exposes payment-frequency differences, while value per hour highlights workload assumptions. Neither replaces judgment about conditional pay, commute, manager, stability, or growth.

Limits

The tool does not review contracts or know deductions, changing benefits, bonus probability, or manager quality. Verify unclear items in writing and compare conservative as well as expected scenarios.

Privacy: The offer-comparison tool does not need identity numbers, passwords, bank details, medical records, private referee data, or confidential employer material. Replace names and restricted figures with neutral examples wherever possible.

Pre-use review checklist

  • Every name, date, amount, title, and claim used by the offer-comparison tool matches the current source.
  • The offer-comparison tool result answers the original goal and does not add an experience, entitlement, or promise that was not supplied.
  • For the offer-comparison tool, assumptions and missing information are visible, and any legal or financial point has been checked against the latest official source.
  • Sensitive, irrelevant, or third-party information has been removed before the offer-comparison tool result is saved or shared.

Review the offer-comparison tool result once as its intended reader. For the offer-comparison tool, check facts first, then relevance, wording, layout, and privacy in separate passes; ask a qualified person to review a difficult-to-reverse decision.
