How to use the Resume builder correctly
Use the resume builder when your career information is scattered across files or when an old resume no longer supports the role you want. It organises contact details, a professional summary, experience, education, and skills into a printable draft. You still decide what is relevant and what evidence is strong enough to keep.
Before you start
Choose one genuine job post and prepare an accurate timeline of your experience. Draft your achievements separately, confirm dates and job titles, and decide whether one or two pages will communicate your relevant experience clearly.
- One target job post with its mandatory and preferred requirements.
- An accurate employment and education timeline with confirmed titles and dates.
- Three to six supported achievements plus current contact details or safe placeholders.
How to use it
- Start with the target post and remove history that cannot support the application.
- Enter verified experience in reverse order, then convert relevant duties into evidence-led points.
- Build the summary after the evidence sections so it reflects the document rather than aspirations.
- Export, inspect the real page breaks, and proofread names, dates, links, and spacing.
Example and interpretation
A customer-service employee applying for a supervisor role replaces “responsible for customer enquiries” with a supported example: coordinated daily case allocation across five colleagues and helped reduce average response time from two days to one over three months. The point shows scope, action, and result without inventing responsibility.
The revised point is stronger because it identifies scope, action, period, and a supported operational change. Keep it only if the employee can explain the figures and their own contribution.
Limits
The builder cannot guarantee screening or selection and does not know every employer's format rules. Creative roles may need a separate portfolio, while some employers require a particular form, language, or file type. Treat the result as an editable application document.
Privacy: The resume builder does not need identity numbers, passwords, bank details, medical records, private referee data, or confidential employer material. Replace names and restricted figures with neutral examples wherever possible.
Pre-use review checklist
- Every name, date, amount, title, and claim used by the resume builder matches the current source.
- The resume builder result answers the original goal and does not add an experience, entitlement, or promise that was not supplied.
- For the resume builder, assumptions and missing information are visible, and any legal or financial point has been checked against the latest official source.
- Sensitive, irrelevant, or third-party information has been removed before the resume builder result is saved or shared.
Review the resume builder result once as its intended reader. For the resume builder, check facts first, then relevance, wording, layout, and privacy in separate passes; ask a qualified person to review a difficult-to-reverse decision.
